The dreaded Hood Pin Debate!
Considering the hood pin kit, however, I do not suffer from the hood shake, I just want the aesthetics. On top of this i really do not want to drill into my hood, however, I also want everything to look 1st class.
Now do I choose the easy option of an appearance kit, or go the whole hog and get the true kit?? Now if I don't like the look I'm stuffed! Do you think it would be wise to do the appearance first and if I like go the whole way? Just looking for your thoughts and opinions from both sides, those who have done the appearance and those who have done the full kit! Thanks |
If you feel you must, skip the pasties.

Drill!

Well, if you're not getting the shaking hood, I would say just do the appearance kit. If later on you like it, then you can get a decent looking hood pin kit for pretty cheap at Autozone, and have it installed, or you could do it yourself.

I really feel that drilling is the only "Proper" way to do this!! However, is it possible to get this effect below for placement by drilling?

I love mine.
the install was pretty easy, and relatively painless. sure you can screw it up, but you have to try to screw it up IMO. it's only sheetmetal. have some fun with it |
I'd drill it and go for the real kit... it's easy :)

I don't know what you have for mods, aside from appearance, but if they're mostly appearance-related already, the appearance pin kit won't be a stretch. Then again, if you've got a good amount of performance mods, I would advise you to go with the real deal, as they will compliment more of the performance aspect of your vehicle.
