Help installing Satin Mustang Speaker Trim Rings on my car.

I bought this 2 months ago.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/sr-sat...ings-0509.html

The 3M that came with it was not strong enough. The rings fell off the next day.

So I bought this 3M tape from Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/3M-110-DC-Moun...0178373&sr=8-3

Lasted 1 week and bam both of them fell off.

Any ideas on how to get them to stick? Or did I buy the wrong 3M tape?

Surface prep is key when using any 3M tape. What did you use the clean the surface before applying the tape? You might want to hit a body shop supply store and get 3M adhesive promoter. It also might help to use an automotive/exterior grade 3M tape (it has the red strip)

If you have used any type of interior protectant on your interior/speaker rings you MUST get every trace of it off. Pop the rings off and clean them with alcohol or wash them with Dawn dish washing liquid and warm water.
Your using the wrong tape. As doogie stated use 3-M auto moulding tape with the Red backer, usually available at any Auto Zone or Advance Auto. This stuff is made to attach exterior trim and will hold your trim rings on with no problem.

Thanks guys. I was using the green strip 3M tape. Just order some red stripe ones. I clean the surface with regular alcohol.

you can use rubbing alcohol with paper towel, or just pick up some alcohol wipes (looks like a condom wraper)...wipe it very well, even use your finger nail and get in there ruff.... then let it dry on its own...then stick it on and hold it tight for a few minutes... it should stick...well if it doesnt..then just super glue it on lol...or use the correct 3m tape lol...

If you have Autozone in your area, you can pick up the 3M tape there instead of waiting for it in the mail.
