Several Questions: shaker hood scoops
Just purchased 2008 gt with stock hood scoop....car has double hood strips 10 inch wide under scoop. Have heard some different thoughts on if the Shaker Hood scoop will cover up the same area as the stock hood scoop or with it leave places open that were previously covered by the stock hood scoop causing issues with striping and maybe other appearance issues to fix..
Or should it cover all of that up leaving only the new scoop showing through the hood.
I wanted to find out before I purchased it and determined I was creating more problems to fix.
I like the appearance of the real scoops over the fake ones..

Also anyone have suggestions about getting current striping removed and new striping painted on? Are strips easily removed without damage and are painted strips better.
thanks much

Contact Classic Design Concepts and they can tell you if it will cover the old holes or not, I have heard that it does not. CDC might even send you one of their templates for cutting the hood, for a modest fee so you can verify for yourself.

The opening for the shaker is smaller than the foot print of the stock hood scoop, If yours is bolted down then i think the opening for the shaker will not cover the holes. same issue with the stripes. Hope this helps. As for the stripes not sure about removing vinyl but IMHO i think painted is better (more expensive but better).
