Hood shipping damage, how common?

I just received a cervinis 1171 hood last week that was damaged in shipping and UPS freight is trying to say it needs to be repaired, my body shop guy want's nothing to do with repairing a fiberglass hood due to quality concerns down the road.
Anyway, is this shipping damage relatively common for hoods? Or would it be likely that if I got a replacement it would show up undamaged?
I may have a good leg to stand on that the repair would be more expensive than a replacement and would never approach the quality of an unrepaired hood, so I may be able to get a replacement with no out of pocket expense, but If I do have an out of pocket expense, I just don't want a broken replacement to show up.
So if you ordered an aftermarket hood, was it damaged or undamaged?

my experience was great, but I do know of some that had issues....they refused delivery and the replacements were much better.

Cervinis are packaged really good usually, so I'm a little surprised there.
They even use flat metal strips that bolts to the where the hinges are supposed to go to prevent the corners to get busted during handling...
Then again, all you need is one moron to drop it during shipment and all bets are off.

Take pictures and send them to Cervini if you haven't already done so.

The flat metal strip was actually the culprit in this situation, I think the UPS morons dropped one of the corners pretty abruptly because the flat metal strip/stand bent and dug into the edge of the hood.
I didn't order directly from Cervini, but one of the advertising vendors that carries their line, and they are going to use extra packing material this time around.

Oh damn I'd be pissed. Def send those to Cervini's as well as UPS. They didn't just drop it from carrying, that sucker dropped off a truck.

That hood looks terrible. Almost sketchy indeed....

I hope I have as good as luck from Cervini as I did the first go around. I'll keep you updated when I hear that the parts came in to the shop.

Definitely got dropped.
Not Cervini's fault but UPS for sure.
I had all kinds of problem with them in the past with shipping overseas.
I will not do business with them.

Send those pics to Cervini with the bent metal strip...

start working your way up the ladder with UPS's customer service, keep biatching until they do what they need to do. you had insurance on the delivery right?
