I love the retro look of our cars. Notice the black area that surrounds our headlights? I think Ford really missed out on further enhancing the retro look by not painting that area to match the body color. If you look at the '65-'69 models, the round headlights are surrounded by painted metal, including the sides of the grill area.
Has anybody tried painting that area? Any pics?

Some guys (including Chip Foose with the Foose Stallion) have taken it a step further and deleted the exterior lens:

The Iococca's have lensless headlights also. It's one of the mods I've got planned for the near future.

I am more curious about the piece replacing the yellow trun signal plastic, looks like a scoop. what is that and where are the turn signal lights and marker lamps??? in Staggolee's pic
