Default Stripe question...

I have a 2008 Cali Special with black vinyl stripes. One of the hood stripes is damaged. To replace the damaged stripes would run about $100 if I install the stripe.

I plan on having the stripes painted on in the fall. So, do I pony up $100 now to keep the stripes or peel all the stripes off for the summer?

I'd just leave 'em on until you get 'em painted. Kinda silly to replace them just to peel 'em off again after the summer. They don't look too bad from the pic. Where's the damage?

Oh no.. those are BEFORE pics!

There is a chunk about the size of a playing card on the passenger side stripe. I pressed much of it down but it is getting worse now that it has started.

Does the car still start? Has the stripe damage effected the motor?

The engine? No, but the pieces cause aerodynamic drag as I approach top speed and slow the car down.

Oh no, aero drag. You must take it off right away. You're loosing MPGs, and you don't want the Prius people telling you about it.... LMAO.

Seriously, I am advising to take the stripes off. I've said it before, and I'll say it again- there are too many Mustangs with stripes.
