The problem with the OEM hood is the TSB Aluminum Corrosion that will eventually surface. I believe all Mustangs 2005-2009 are affected.
Do you know anyone who has been affected directly by the corrosion? I am having serious problems and not getting any help. ugh!

There's a lot of people, including myself. There's even a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) out for it but not many people have had luck in getting any help, especially since we're more than a few years old

the stock OEM hoods are pricey... really pricey. and hood pins arnt always an easy task to put on and take off if you wanted those. your in for a world of hurt i would think if you do this. way to much trouble. i kept my stock hood for a long time incase like you said, my aftermarket gets damaged, but it toook up so much space after 2 years i had to sell it. i say just style up your current hood, i doubt youd want to swap back to plain if you tricked out another hood anyways.

Just my .02
agreed..

If you have the additional space, all you'd have to do is wrap it good in something like a blanket and make sure to put it somewhere it won't get damaged.
