It's definitely do-able. See pics below. I painted mine silver..... Just use lots of tape and lots of sandpaper. Make sure you clear coat over the paint (at least 3 coats of clear). That way your paint won't chip:

+1 to what discodave said about the clear. I forgot to mention that in my post. You can also take off the rockers if you don't want to worry about getting spray on the rest of the car. I took mine off so I could hit all the areas of the panels.
