painting v6 rockers

painting v6 rockers
is this do-able? getting a chin spoiler and figured painting the rockers at the same time as the chin spoiler would save me a bit in the long run.
so how would i go about doing this?

no, going to a place to paint them would be best i think. though i would do it myself if someone says it's a job i can take on. i have experience with spray paint if that matters (though more in the graffiti sense :P)

if i were you i would just check into getting the side skirts that are already painted....whoever paints yours for you will charge well and still ull have the textured look....newtakeoff has the painted gt side skirts for $139...

i was thinking of prepping it myself so the paint would just go on with the chin spoiler. not only that but newtakeoff has no alloy sideskirts. i can't imagine painting the chin spoiler and rockers costing me more than if i paint the chin spoiler alone, and buy the rockers for 139.

I'd imagine it would be a fairly tough job since the rockers are textured. I have no idea how you would prep them, but it has been done before. Hopefully someone who's done it can chime in. My suggestion would be to hit up the parts department of a local Ford dealership... especially one that has a good shop and does conversions on Mustangs. A lot of the time they have take-off parts available that they'll sell you pretty cheap. I once got a pair of Tungsten Grey GT take-off rockers for $40.

Painting the rockers are easy. I used 800 grit (i think since it was a year ago), and sanded down till smooth, then 1000 to make it really smooth. Then used 3 coats of a filler primer to fill any scratches that may be too deep. Sanded it down with 1000 grit, and after dusting off the primer dust, hit it with about 3 coats of paint. Came out pretty good.
