need new hood suggestions
Alright everybody so I'm 18 years old, just bought my 2006 pony package Vista Blue mustang last month and 2 weeks in some ******* backed into it and drove off. So now I'm forced into getting a new hood. I just went to a body shop and got a few quotes and one shop claims my hood is fixable when no one really thinks it is but theyre looking around 5 to 600 for the labor and paint. So my question is buy a new hood or let them fix the stock one?
An aftermarket hood I was looking at was here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/kaenen-gt500hood-0509.html
The bodyshop told me that the fiberglass material isnt too smart and doesnt paint on too well so he recommened to look at another one. Im looking for a simple hood like that for aftermarket ones. Also my LT headlamp was pushed up, my fender over the headlight is bent in a bit, grille is cracked and front bumper has some spider cracks and in total it was estimated at 1,700. So what should I do as far as hoods? Anyone have experience with that hood or can recommend another one?

Sorry for double post but I've been looking online and all I see for the most part is Fiberglass with the exception of Carbon Fiber, so can anyone give me some feedback and show me what hood they got and how the paint went on, any other problems, etc.

Fiberglass is common for aftermarket hoods. Any good body shop shouldn't have any problems prepping and painting it. CDC, Cervinis, Trufiber, Keanan are all good brands, also HO Fibertrends.
Just remember far as body parts, you get what you pay for. Had a friend get a $300 hood off Cruzin COncepts and ended up paying more in the long run cause it took the body shop he used MUCH longer to get the paint and fitment right as it was made out of cheap stuff.
