Starting to lose faith in some of AM's products, at least the lower end appearance stuff. I had two magnetic blackout panels from AM and both of them bubbled badly. I realize that stuff is not high dollar parts, but come on.
I removed and re-installed my AM antenna a year ago and noticed some white corrosion forming on the threads. So I applied some anti-seize on the threads prior to re-installing.

Funny, I had the same issue when I was shopping for my shorty... Went with the smallest one from AM, then did the unthinkable, went to a car wash that was not touch-less, When she came out the 6 inch shorty was gone with nothing left but the base. I was pissed, then I checked the radio and reception was perfect like OEM... The look was cleaner than before so i just left it...

I bought one from AM.

I dunno if I am the only person but after three months mine friggin broke.

It was odd because after I went on highway trips going over 70 the damn thing always looked like the wind had bent it, so I had to bend it back.
Finally it broke.

Dunno if I got a weird manufacturing fart or what.
I'm not gonna buy another one though.
I will cut my stock one I saved when I get the hankerin' to do it.

You've got to be kidding me? There is a 3 page thread on which shorty antenna to get? Seriously?

I opted for the "hack-it-down-low-yourself" model. Lol. I believe I brought it down to 8".
