Default ***Help with GT/CS Bumper Pics***

First off, it's been a long time since I posted on here, it's been a busy summer.

Long story short: I got rear-ended about a month ago and am just now getting around to getting it fixed (just scratched the paint). So I'm taking this opportunity to get the rear bumper from the GT/CS instead of the stock GT bumper since I have someone else subsidizing most of the cost. When I talked to the lady at the body shop, she said that their dealer hasn't ever done one of these bumpers though, so she asked if I could bring in some pics of how I want it painted. I would really appreciate anyone who could take some close-up pics of their GT/CS rear bumper so my body shop where they need to tape off. I've always felt it was kind of common sense, but I really don't want to give them any excuse if they paint it wrong.

Thanks in advance!

Basically, the gt500 and c/s rear bumper are exactly the same piece.
They do have different part numbers from Ford though and are different prices.
If you order a c/s rear bumper is will come pre-taped and if you order the gt500 part number it will not (or so I have been told).

If you do happen to get one that is not pre-taped don't panic.
If you look very closely at the area around the exhaust cutouts you will see a transition line from where the surface is rough and then there is a smooth line that comes up from the bottom and around one outlet all the way over to the other outlet and down.
This is the guide line they use at Ford to tape off the exhaust section on a c/s rear bumper.

I ordered mine using the c/s part number and it was taped and ready for prep/paint.
I did however go over the top of their tape with my own stuff as it looked like theirs was lifting in spots and I didn't want some lazy painter not noticing and then getting spray in under those areas.

Here are a few photos that hopefully help.

The reason the GT500 one does not come taped is because it is left all black. But with the GT/CS one, the sides (next to the black middle) are painted to match, will post pics of mine once I am home from work.

So this might be a stupid question, but anyone think of filling in the license plate area and then painting? Then mounting the plate where the false cap is, kinda like saleen did? And/or is it possible? Great bumper though

Its possible but probably not easy. I would guess the easiest way would be to cut out the indention and epoxy a plastic plate (or whatever the bumper it made of) then just bondo it smooth. Not the most professional but it seems like it would work... Pascal?

Its not gonna look as good as the saleen does though, will look kinda plain and like the bumper is a bit big

The GT500 version of the rear mainly isn't painted on the lower half to flow better with the textured black rocker panels (same as the V6 panels).
