Default "mustang" door sill..

hey does anybody know how the aluminum door sill inserts that have the letter mustang actualy come off. Just got a random idea to take them off and paint the mustang lettering to match the car..ever been done?

200 mph double stick tape, you'll end up bending the plates before they come off.

there are some vendors on this site that sell the color matched letters for that purpose.... I cant remember which one I got mine from I can give you pics if you want...

yeah I took mine off, when i installed the Roush ones. and did my best to not bend them. it's impossible.

i actually bought them from american muscle but the letters were actually too big for the insert and they gave me my money back so i was thinking of just painting them myself but apparently not lol

Shop around...... there are many sources for these...... Painting is always an option if you have a real steady hand.. I would suggest leaving the aluminum piece attached and just pull off the whole sill.... it snap off by pulling straight up. It has 4 snaps

Paid around $10.00 for mine 3 years ago, but don't remember where.
Check on ebay.

If you do bend up your originals, I have 2 aluminum sill plates with red vinyl letters installed in very good condition left over from.
