Default Powdercoated Valve Covers

Haven't done any mods to mine for about 2yrs now.
Last additions was the Magnum 500 replica wheels & Nitto 555's.

Co-worker bought a powder coating kit & has been coating anything we toss his way...lol.

Bought a bottle of bright red powder coat for $14.00 & took me 2 afternoons of labor, but am real pleased with the final results. Too bad you can't see more when installed, but a big improvement over the dull, cast aluminum.

Now just gotta save up for the 2012 Boss......

Wish I could bend to do this but can't right now.
I'd love to powder coat mine black.

How long does taking them off and putting them back on actually take?
(Just in case I wanted to pay a friend to do it for me)

I am getting mine powder coated blue right now. Just dropped them off with the powder coater.

I would say it could probably take anywhere from 2.5 to 5 hours to re and re depending on your mechanical aptitude. A professional mechanic could probably do it in about 2.5 hours. I am just learning myself and I looked at TacoBill's how to and it seems pretty straightforward.....just gotta take your time and be patient. The battery and airbox have to come out as well.

Unless you have other options like a SC or intercooler tank that might be in the way, this is a very easy and a straight forward process. I have done this a couple times now and it might take 2 hours total. But TacoBill's write-up is very helpful and made the process very easy.

Like I said... I would do it myself... but an injury prevents me
from bending over pretty much AT ALL for the next 4 mo.

Took me an afternoon to remove & same to reinstall. I wasn't in any hurry though. If you work steady, 2 Hrs is reasonable.

Was concerned it might be too much red, but still happy with the results.
Red is my favorite color
