Default side stripe question, also wheel options

well since I've decided to keep the 'stang, I've decided to start pumping more money into this baby

I want to get body color side skirts eventually, but was wondering how it would look without the side stripe and with the black rockers. I know for sure, I want to remove it when i get the painted rockers, but was wondering if it would still look good. yay or nay?

also, I'm planning on getting wheels in the next few weeks, some 18 inch AM wheels probably. any suggestions? I was thinking the bullitts but can't decide if I want black or anthracite. all suggestions welcomed...

here what it looks like from the side : oh and if anyone want to photoshop that would be good

You threw me off or a second there. I saw the GT grille but no fender badges and then the unpainted (black) skirt!?! Took me a second to even know what I was looking at.

As for the painted skirts, they will look nice. You could even get away with just painting the black ones that are already on it and save a few bucks. These days, side skirts or "ground effect kits" aren't really as popular as they used to be. In fact, expect someone to scream "rice" in 3...2...1... (there's one in every crowd LOL)

As for removing the rocker panel stripe, I'm a bit torn. From my own car, you can see I'm a fan of stripes. However, I've never much cared for tagging the car with "mustang" or "Ford" or worse yet, "powered by ford" (Duh... I thought it was powered by chevy!)

It's really a matter of personal preference, so look at your options, and make a decision, but I wouldn't put too much stock into what you are about to see on this thread. You are going to see every opinion across the board... even opinions on things you weren't even talking about. LOL

As for wheels... I have no opinion. That is SERIOUSLY a personal thing.

*Love the color of your Stang BTW (Yeah, I'm biased!)

^^ I have no interest in dround effect kits, i was talking about either painting my own black rockers or getting some GT take off ones. yeah, i have the GT front because the V6 bumpers are lame, but I'm not in any way calling it a GT haha.

thanks, I actually didnt get a choice on color, when it was time to get a car, all I could find was silver haha but the colors takes a good pic on overcast days

Just paint your rockers, they are pretty darn close to GT take offs, if there is any difference at all. My wife has a V6, so now I'm curious and will have to go look. Still, even if there is a difference, it can't be much of one.

So it really comes down to cost. If you can find some GT take-offs for cheap, then great... otherwise painting them shouldn't cost too much.

I think the only difference is that the V6 ones are textured.

You could go to the Chop Shop section and ask them to photoshop you picture without the stripe and paint the rocker panel to match to see what it could look like.

BTW, the V6 rocker panels are the exact same ones used on a GT500KR.
