Yeah, I saw the thread regarding the flat black wrapped Mustang in Poland and I was impressed. I personally like the black glossy look, the flat black doesn't look finished to me. As mentioned above, black is a tough color to keep clean, do keep that in consideration!!!! I like suggestion on adding flat or matte black stripes to your Mustang.

I was reading about the newer M3 the other day, which is now available in a matte gray color, and about how easy the paint gets damaged due to tree sap, bugs, and all the other random schit falling from the sky. It looked good but I'd be very nervous keeping/driving it outside

Not sure if that applies to all matte/flat paint jobs but just something to consider

I was just sharing...you were wondering..I'm not a fan...but some do..myself, the limited Matte black that is on mine is enough to worry about, if ever do stripes, as I did on my '10 GT, custom paint the way to go if you are putting that big of mark on your car...even if you did Matte black...Clear Coat that sucker.. 4 coats. water weill run off.

My vote is to keep it Red, but I am bias as the two Mustangs I own now are Red.

I personally think the matte black looks killer. However, I'm not sure about keeping it clean, etc. as I don't have any first hand experience with it. Plus, I imagine it would be pretty expensive to have the entire car painted matte black and done correctly, so you'd have to be really sure that is what you want, as that money could pay for a lot of other mods.

There IS such thing as flat clear coat.

I think a flat black could look very good.
Especially if you did a gloss black stripe job on it.

Blacksmoke, you are absolutely right, that combo looks really good. Here is an example...granted not a Stang, but you get the idea.

There is a paint called Hot Rod Black and it's quite flat, I have it on my spoiler and it's been though all kinds of weather (Ice, snow, sleet, etc) and it still looks good I don't do any thing special to it except don't wax it, any kind of wax will make it look crappy.
