GT Emblem removal help...
Hey guys I just got some "powered by ford" emblems to replace my GT emblems. I'm plannig on doing this on Sat, but I tried to carefully remove one of the old emblems off & those suckers are on there!!!
Any suggestions on removing these? Heat gun, fishing wire, etc....what did you do?

When working with glue, heating up always helps (obviously becareful not to get the paint on your fender too hot as to cause damage. Never tried fishing wire on emblems before, may work. What I've always used is the packing straps that are sometimes on big packages. Looks like this
It always works well for me. Since I've always done this at my dad's body shop or using his supplies, wax&grease remover helps to soften up the tape holding it on. We also use body shop alcohol, so rubbing alcohol may work ok (i've never used it so I don't know whether it is really safe for cars but i'd imagine it is).
Also I think I've read on the boards here that the GT emblems (I've never removed 05-09 GT emblems so you may need to check this as well) have two posts on them that actually fit into two holes in the fender, so if you are pulling them off keep this in mind that you may have to work around the center of the emblems.

I read on this forum many times where members use fishing line to cut through the glue. If I did it, I would heat up the emblem first, or since you live in FL do it on a warm sunny day. Then slowly saw back and forth with the fishing line, mainly contacting the emblem instead of your car.
You can also send Pascal a PM (he's a member). He owns a body shop and has delt with this issue many times.
