Default Shaker Scoop Modification

I have noticed that a few people here have modified their shaker hood scoops. I was wondering if those of you who have modfied your shakers could post some pics of how they look and whether you are happy with the results.

Just looking for some lessons learned.

Thanks

Jake

Here's a couple links to what I ended up doing. I am really pleased with the results.

LOL! Thanks. Just our little secret... I'm not all that deprived.

I used some door edge guard to trim the shaker. At first I could only find the 3' pieces so I had to use 3 of them to go around the whole shaker. If you look closely you can see the seams where they butt up against each other. However, I have since then found a 20' piece at O'Reilly auto parts. Just waiting for warmer weather to install it.

Good tip on the edge molding...if i ever get the funds to purchase one I think I will modify mine similar to the way you did. I noticed one other guy here on the forum that modified his shaker. He trimmed a lot more to include the ford racing placards and added some kind of weather stripping to make it look more like a traditional shaker.

Anyway...your car looks great...

btw...i really like the background you have behinf your sig block...did you serve in the miliary?

Trimmed the plastic shroud off mine as well. Didn't like all that plastic.
Added door edge weather seal to the edges to seal to the hood.
1 pic before trimming.

Thanks for the post Aircare...what type of door edge weather seal did you use. I actually just sent you a PM becuase I saw a picture of your shaker mod that you posted on another thread.

Your car looks real sharp...I like the BOSS 302 look.

Thanks Jake,
My previous Mustang was a 70 Boss 302. Been about 20yrs of mini-vans & sedans in between.
Heres a pic that shows where I trimmed my shroud.
Replied to your PM about the weatherstrip.
