Default i made a dumb mistake

when i was painting my calipers the other day i decided to touch up a chip on my rear faux gas cap (its painted black). now this was a dumb idea since it wouldnt have any clear over it so i shouldnt have done it in the 1st place. but anyways i tried being careful and some fell on my damn bumper any suggestions on how to get it off? sand it very lightly? buff it? thanks!

You can't just knock it off with your fingernail or something? I had some paint dripped on my hood (don't ask, long story) so I used some paint overspray remover and scratched it off with my fingernail and a lint free rag, buffed out the little swirl mark, and reapplied wax. Looks like it never happened.

Clay bar will remove the overspray

Ouch. I say fingernail too. Doesn't work with battery acid though... I saw some "white paint" on my passenger front quarter panel one day... it turned out to be acid from my battery that exploded and ate away at my paint (pretty much instantly). Engine bay was worse.

WTH???? That's random. Was it the stock battery in your Mustang?

Haha... Yea it was. I was still able to drive around with it for a few more months before it finally died. And... Touch up paint can only go so far

SWEET!! I'm glad you asked before you took some sandpaper to it! The clay bar should do the trick on any residual spots.

I've used Ronsonal lighter fluid to remove paint & marks off clear & plexiglass with great results.
