I use to use the california duster..it works ok..but I use this now
http://www.woolshop.com/D24.html
it works much better..its much softer, easier to glide along the paint with little pressure so less chance of scratching..and the big part you can wash it anytime you want..I never liked that about the California duster..After so long I would throw them out and get a new one..no matter even if it says it gets better the dirtier it gets.

I use a California Duster before I slip the car cover back on. Since my stang isn't a DD it doesn't get driven in the rain or snow.

Hotwheelracer have you thought about a car cover for those hot summer days when your car is parked while you work? I keep one on my car 24/7 because right now it has to sit outside. It does help keep bird poo, dust and debris off of it. When I want to take it for a ride, I fold it up and smile at the shine.

id never use a car cover..My car sits in the garage 80% of the time and I just think car covers offer way to much of scratching the paint taking it on and off..I dont care how soft they say it is..it touches the ground could pick up something and scratch the paint.

Unfortunately a big part of my job is going to customers homes. So I am driving around town at least three days, if not more, a week. I always try to park in the shade and away from other cars if possible.

Trust me, there ain't a scratch on my car to be found. I take precaution when taking my cover off. If you fold it correctly, it will never touch the ground.
Now if you are one of those lazy guys who doesn't detail the car every time you put a cover on.....then YES you could get dirt and debris embedding in the material.
If I had room to put my car in the garage, I would still use a car cover, but because it sits outside and is subjected to birds flying over dropping bombs, I do not hesitate about putting a car cover on it. I think it would be worse for the paint if bird crap got baked on by the hot sun, but because of my cover, it does not get to my precious paint.
