Default Black chrome new edge wheels on a s197

I have an 09 Mustang GT, and I am thinking about getting the saleen's 5 spoke wheels in black chrome. They do not make them for s197's, so I was wandering will they fit with no rub, no clearance issue, no turning isses without using spacers. I plan to go 18x9 front, 18x10 rear, with 275/35-18 front and 285/35-18 rear. I sall some other forums, and they said new edge wheels will fit, but I want to be sure with these exact wheels and tires. Here is the link. I would like to know soon as possible because these are bad *** rims.

Thanks, David

They will fit as far as bolt pattern.
Get the 6.2 back spacing ones so you'll get the correct offset and have less chances to rubbing your quarter panels.
You'll be awfully flush though...

People have used wide 99/04 rims on the S197 and got away without rubbing...
Hopefully, someone with that set up will chime in.

I kind of like the wheels sticking out a little, it gives our cars an aggresive look. With the 275/35-18 in front I am worried about not hitting my 1/4 pannels. I have heard some new edge wheels fit fine with the wheels stickign out a little, I just want to make sure.

This thread should be of interest to you.

I personally do not see the advantage of a staggered setup with the given tire sizes in the package you are looking at. Wouldn't it be better to just go 275 all around on the 9" rims for rotation purposes? I mean going from a 275 front to a 285 rear will not make much of a visual difference, right?

Yes for rotation purposes I was doubting staggered, but I want fat tires in the back for hookup.

what kinda #s you putting down now/future plans? 275 is pretty decent, especially with good rubber...maybe snow tires and summer tires since U R in OH?

I think that would be a better bet bro. Also I would consider going up a size in profile if that's the way you are going. 275/35/18 are tiny @ 25.5" diameter, stock is around 27". A 275/40/18 would get you closer to stock diameter at 26.6" and the increased profile will get you more flex in the tire, thus increasing grip. The setup on that first stang in the thread link I posted has this setup with a 24mm offset and looks f'in good!

Alright thanks a lot man I'll probably go with the 275/40-18 all around. I hope they don't rub when I turn.
