Okay, I have a black '05 GT 5 speed, and I LOVE the look of GT500 front ends. Now, if I were to convert to that front end, would I be considered a "poser" or something? I have no intentions of putting a cobra anywhere on the car, and if anything, I want to change my gas cap and side emblems to tri-bar ponies instead of the ugly "GT"

I know the whole "it's your car do what makes you happy" thing, but I mean...when I see/hear what's clearly a V6 with GT markers and whatnot, I get bothered. I just don't want to be "that guy" you know?

I know many people have already done it, I just want some input from you guys before I take any steps/make any purchases.

P.S. - Sorry if this is already a topic, I searched via the search bar and on google...had no luck of really finding the discussion I was looking for.

Go fo it, I'm of the opinion that it's the badges that have the poser factor. I've got a roush front end, but didn't swap to roush badges because I don't have a roush, I have something better. If I swapped badges it would be to something custom or at least not available on the 2005-9 models.

it's all good, at least you know better than to put the badges on it.i think you should also do the rear bumper with the diffuser as well to finish off the look

Nothing wrong with that, OP. As long as the badges are off the car, only the idiots and naive will call you a poser and to be honest, who care what the village idiot thinks?

There are plenty of guys on here that did the gt500 front end swap and it looks freakin fantastic. If you've got the couple grand to do it, I say go for it!

Bah. Who cares. Your car, what makes you happy? I put just the GT500 hood on. I love it, others don't. Great. The front coversion to GT 500 looks sick. Find the thread from mellowyellow where he did it, and look at his two cars.

Everyone's got it straight on with the badges. I personally get pretty giddy when I see a stang with a GT500 front and the GT emblem on the side, not sure why, but I do

...Probably just because it's custom and I think it's b.a., but you know...
