Plati Dip got the best of me... (pics)
I started just wanted to paint the front and rear emblems but it quickly turned into much more lol Anyways, I used Plasti Dip for the front and rear emblems as well as the wheels and Nite Shade for the fogs. I did three coats on the emblems and four on the wheels and before I started to paint I just wiped the surface down with an all purpose windex cleaner. I don't have these wheels on the car yet but I have an appointment to go get them on tomorrow morning! Now onto the pics...
This is with the flash on.

The second coat was a very light coat. The bottle said don't do more than three or else you might not be able to see out them. I like the way they turned out. However if you get really close up and look at the tint it looks ish because it's not a very consistent process when applying.

How are you going to address the problem of the plasti-dip
tearing when you install the lug nuts and the dip is inbetween
the conical face of the nut and the conical seat on the rims?
I was told to use a coin to cover the conical seats to prevent
tearing and to get a metal to aluminum seat inbetween the
rims and the nuts so they will hold the 98 Ft Lbs of torque...
Just curious and want to learn from you?
wHATS THE SECRET?

Like that is going to happen.
Like they are going to be not careful because they are not painted?
My rims get damaged everytime I have tires mounted on them...
Maybe if I told them to be very careful they wont sustain any more damage?
Its all part of the tire game.
Tearing around the lug nuts as plasti-dip is not 'paint' as you call it.
Thats whet I am talking about. Is it happening and can you see it?
Obtaining and maintaining proper lug nut torque.
