Default In the process of dressing the engine bay...

Funding is nearly complete, once it is I will be buying aluminum tanks for the overflow and for the power steering, as well as new SS braided lines, a cover for the brake fluid res (apparently you can't replace it? or maybe it just needs to be plastic?).

I also plan on buying the CPC open runner desing plenum cover with the fuel rail covers and the fuse box cover + the throttle body cover. Painting everything black, the intake manifold red, accent stuff in red (lines on the covers).

My question is concerning painting the plenum covers. Do I need to sand them down or can I just use something like plasticoat? Whats the best method for painting them? I'd like to make it a gloss finish.

I am also gonna paint the valve covers and throttle body ready and clean up the block and maybe clear parts of it if I can.

If it was me doing it I would sand the plenum covers with 1000 grit wet/dry and the spray two coats of color wet sanding with 2000 grit wet/dry in between coats. Then I give it at least two coats of clear... probably three. Again wet sand in between coats. I would wet sand the final clear coat with 1000 then 2000 grit paper followed with fine then ultra fine polishing compound to a high gloss.

That's pretty much the plan, I just didn't know if they came painted or if the silver was just the color of the plastic they used.

Yup, will do, just waiting on my tax return to hit the bank...

Moroso Expansion Tank - Painted black

Moroso Power Steering Res - Painted black

CPC underhood kit - Painted black with red fins and red 4.6 details

BangaStang Full Length Radiator cover - Painted black

Sequential Tail Light Kit

Billet grille - Black

Battery Covers

Gonna paint valve covers and throttle body as well.

Any suggestions from anyone about other things I can do for some sleek engine bay looks? Pics included would be lovely.

Got everything except the full-length radiator cover ordered.

Got a good deal on the CPC package from CJponyparts. They are offering $60 off for orders of $300 or more.

Thinking I am going to paint everything, even the battery/mstcyl covers that are already black. Gonna hit them with a black basecoat of the ford black mustang color and then clear everything to make it shine.

With the grille I ordered, I saw a few pics of people mounting the fogs behind it and it looks sleek to me. Is that a kit or do most people just make something for that?

Edit: Found some kits, they are pretty expensive though, I think I will just make my own.
