I'm with Rylay on the ratchet shifter. I had one in my old 69 with auto trans and the thing was sick.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I figure it's better than starting a new one. So....my shifter has this exact same issue except worse because I decided to try to peel off the silver part. Turned out to be a pain in the...and now it's just really ugly. I tried to make a leather cover for it and it turned out okay but I'd really like to have a new (or used) one. It seems my options are to check auto salvage yards & try to find a wrecked Mustang or ask around to see if anyone has changed their stock shifter to an aftermarket one and still has their stock one laying around waiting for me to buy it. Anyone? Thanks...

Sorry but I sold both my stock shifters and a 2011 shifter. I have a like new TCI ratchet-shifter (in the original box) I'll probably sell off also, but nothing else anymore. All the satin ones seem to scratch or wear marks for the hand resting on them. The black ones seem to break the ratchet cover plastics. There was one on ebay this morning for 70 but it also looked a bit worn. Good luck.

No, its the whole shifter billet T-handle and includes a boot. I have held one in my hand before. But yes, they are expensive.

I read the description which says boot. When you go down in the listing, it shows the handle with the boot. I didn't read down far enough. My oops.
