do u think the 2005-2009 model is the last generation of rugged looking mustangs?

In 2005 when I saw the first S197 I thought it was the best looking Mustang since the 60's. I still think it's the best looking although the 2013's are looking pretty sweet. If anyone wants a Mustang they had better grab one now because if Obama has his way we'll all be driving one of these in a few years... The Smart Stang...

The 05-09 will definitely be the last muscular design with hard body lines. They are moving, towards the more sleek look. They are trying to create the new generation muscle car. Give it an aggressive appearance and lots of raw power but updating to a sleeker design.

I've owned a 2008, and just bought a 2012 so I like them both a lot. The one thing I LOVE about the 2010+ styling are the giant 60's style "hip" over the rear quarter panels/wheel wells. It's just so damn pretty.

I think the 05-09s have the best potential with the platform however in totally stock for they are rather plain as Mustangs generally are, however with a few hundred dollars in quick fixer uppers they wind up looking very dynamic, sexy, and mean. No other generation rather than the first gen can be modified so easily yet change the look so well.
The 10-13 Mustangs don't look bad, but my complaint is that the rear bumper design is hiddious, the car just flat out doesn't flow from front to rear like the 05-09 modles do. The inside, while nicer in some degrees, also shows this inconsistancy. One side of the air vents are round, the middle, rectangle, and what's worse is they went back to the painful vent deign of 04 and earlier models that breaks so easily cause of it's over complicated design.
I think the Mustang of 2015 will show cues of the mustangs herritage, but like the Sn95 generation, and S197 afterwards, it will take a drastic step in another direction.

+1 I prefer the 05-09s muscular look over the 2010+s sleeker look. I would have liked to have the "hips" on the newer style though.
I still wish that Ford would have had a fast-back option like the Iacocca Mustang...
That is bada$$ IMO!

I much prefer the flush AC vents of the 2010+ over the HIDEOUS protruding circle vents of the 05-09. I hated those things so much. Ugly, cheap, shiny. Blah....

Something about the 2010+ doesn't do it for me.
It is a hit and miss. I think the 05-09 just has more hits.
I think if Ford stuck the 2011 engine in the 05-09 and started selling them, they might sell better than the 2010+

When I look at the 05-09, I just think "muscle". And this is a muscle car, so that's what I wanted. The foxes are too clunky, sn95 and new edges are too sleek, and the 10+'s are too sleek as well. I saw it in another thread, where people were saying that Mustangs are no longer "muscle cars" but becoming "sports cars", and I agree 100% (and yes, there IS a difference). The Mustang should be a beefy car that should be fast, but only partially supported by aerodynamics. =P

There just aren't many things to do to the exterior of the 05-09's. It's the same like 3 things everyone does. I remember finding it pretty annoying when I owned one. Everyone does the same mods. Over and over and over.
