Default Removing door sill

I hope someone can assist me. I've ordered some Dynamat for the floor. I plan to do this project next weekend. As I was poking around I pulled on the door sill and noticed they pop off easily from the side that holds the carpet down. However they are very secured to the side that is directly on the body. Almost as if it is glued with double sided tape.

I don't want to break anything, so my question is, does anyone know how to correctly remove the complete sill? What is holding it down other then the clips holding down the carpet side? Any help is appreciated.

Frank

I removed my passenger side door sill to run some wires but it was over a year ago. I know for sure there wasn't any tape holding it down. If I remember you should be able to pry up the outside edge of the sill, get your fingers under it, lift up and it should pop right off.

Other than those carpet clips, there is just some double sided tape across the middle area. Steady upward pressure and they should come loose.

i TOOK MY DOOR SILL OFF ON THE PASS SIDE TO LOOK FOR THE WATER PROBLEM.
tHEY ARE INDEED ATTACHED WITH SOME 3m vhb TAPE on my 07.

fricken caps lock.

Just pull away and they will give way.
New 3M VHB molding tape is available at AutoZoner for reattachment.
Otherwise they will not lay flat on the door sill.

Too cool. Thanks all for the quick responses. I will go out and get some 3M double sided tape for the re-install. I just didn't want to blindly pull on it and end up breaking something.

Thanks 157dB, I'm book marking that and I'm sure I will referring to it many times. I've been checking it for hours...
