Ram Air Hoods & Water

Ram Air Hoods & Water
I've been considering replacing my hood and there are several ram air hoods and heat extraction hoods that have caught my eye. I'm concerned about water entering through the hood openings, seems I saw somewhere on the forum that water entered through the opening and the air filter got soaked.
How do y'all deal with water entering a ram air hood or a heat extraction hood?
Are these types of hoods just not a good choice for a daily driver?

I would try to get a OEM GT500 hood for your car, I'm not sure about the aftermarket hoods. Most are intended to be driven in dry weather however the factory GT500 are well designed to place water between the engine block and radiator.

The GT500 hood will leave a funny gap on your 2006 because of the difference in the GT500 front fascia.
As far as water getting in and being a problem with the open hoods though everyone has said it isn't a problem. A friend had one similar to the California Dream with the two big slots up front and never had a problem in rain or snow.
I have a custom set up with a shaker that is open directly to the engine bay. I've driven through some huge rain storms since doing it and no problems at all. In fact the top of my supercharger wasn't even wet.
with the hood up you can see it is a big opening too

I have the Trufiber RTF hood and it has both ram air as well as heat extractor vents, but I haven't had any issues with rain. The only issue can be when you are washing the car, but as long as you don't spray water directly through the vents or ram air opening, it is not a problem.
