New Rims & Tires! Yay!

Like the wheels, there's just enough 'bright' in them to keep the whole wheel/tire package from disappearing into the darkness of the wheelwells.
A little lowering would help, but keep in mind your local road conditions - and that the car will drop slightly (about 1/4") when you get into it, so the appearance and wheel gaps of the car when it's being driven aren't exactly the same as when it's parked.
My opinion based on having about 350# of patio blocks in the trunk of my stock-sprung '08 a couple of days ago is that it's really easy to overdo the lowering thing and put the centers of the wheelwell arcs too far below the wheel centers. Once you start noticing this enough to identify it, it might look nearly as "odd" as having too much wheel gap on top. Your call, though.

Thank you, friends. I appreciate it. You have some sweet looking rides as well!
Norm Peterson, the road conditions in Maine certainly make me question lowering the car, especially during the winter months, but a slight adjustment probably wouldn't hurt any. Admittedly, that's not too high up on my priority list at the moment.

Looks great! I had a similar nail/tread issue this weekend. I looked at and talked to AM and Discount Tire. I have had great experiences with both, but I went with the Discount Tire 18x9 black replica and 235/50/18 P Nero Zero All Season, mainly based on price, road hazard warranty, and rotation option. I ordered them today. Love the look of yours and if the ones I ordered do not look good, I will be sending them back and ordering from AM.

Hope it all goes well for you BAB GT. A nail in the tire is always a bummer.
I had my eyes on the black bullitt rims since I first bought my car. The Nitto tires have had consistently good reviews on MF from what I've read, and I like the upgrade to 18".
Can't wait to see photos your new set up! Let us know how you like it!
