Can't Decide: Silver AMR's Vs Silver SVE's
So in just a few months, the Blizzaks and the stock rims will need to come off of the car, and a new set of rims and tires put in their place. I cannot decide between the new Silver AMR Rims from American Muscle and the Silver SVE rims from Late Model Restoration.
- Option 1: The Silver AMR's
Link
Rims:
19x8.5 w/ +30mm offsets in the front.
19x10 w/ +48mm offsets in the rear.
Tires:
TBD
- Option 2: The Silver SVE's
Link
Rims:
19x9.5 w/ +35mm offsets all the way around.
Tires:
275/35/19 - Nitto NT555's for all four.
I guess my main question is, which would have the better fitment of the two on the 05-09 mustangs. I have not seen very many photos of the RTR style rims on the 05-09's, so if anyone has any photos or suggestions as to which route they recommend I would greatly appreciate it.
Also tire recommendations for size and brand for the AMRs would be helpful as well, as the SVE's fit the preferred Nitto NT555, with 275/35/19's all the way around.
The car is a 2006 Tungsten Grey GT.

Option 2 would be all around less expensive and gives you the option of rotating the tires.

Tire rotation is over emphasized in this day and age. My setup would be a classic example. Staggered setup with nitto 555's with over 20K miles, plus a one inch drop...sounds like trouble right?
Wrong! No uneven tire wear with no rotation. The key here is not tire rotation, it is maintaining proper alignment.
Of the two listed, I will go with setup 1...but after recently seeing THIS black chrome finish combined with your car color, I would reconsider my options.
PS...Get rid of that strip job on that stang ASAP.

That's a tough one....they are both good looking rims. I think it's going to come down to having a staggered set-up vs. nonstaggered set-up.
For tires, here's my opinion..
AMR
front - 245/40/19 (+/- 26.73) or 255/40/19 (+/- 27.17)
rear - 285/35/19 (+/- 26.73)
Tires: Nitto Invo's....which you could possible get through AmericanMuscle also.
LMR
The 275/35/19's are a tad shorter (+/- 26.57") than the stock tires (+/- 27)...but should be just fine.
Good Luck!

@mayo - Thanks. That's good to know about the tire rotation.
@05 Mustang - Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking into the Nitto Invo's (because I like the Nitto 555's) and that would probably be the route I would go.
I am currently leaning towards the staggered AMR's. Does the offsets between the AMR's and the SVE's make very much of a difference? Does one fit better in the wheel wells than another? What would be the ideal offset?

I can tell you our AMR's are setup to fit your 05+ Mustang perfectly flush. No need for wheel spacers and no tires sticking out past the fenders. We can also guarantee the fitment will be perfect with a stock suspension 05+.
Personally, I would just choose whichever style you prefer. IMO, the staggered look is the way to go for any muscle car!
Let me know if you have any questions, too.

I've got a set of Black SVE's sitting in my garage..
I'm tossing 275/45 and 255/40 Continental DW's on there...
The nice thing about the DW's are that they're summer tread, but also allow left to right rotation. me, having a 4.0, has to worry about uneven tread with the tire that puts down the power..
Also I feel the nice thing about having staggered, is once you go through the tread on the back (which burns quicker than the fronts I'm sure) you only have to replace two tires at once, and the fronts will last another 5-7k miles.
