Default Dual Exhaust on a 07'

I have an 07' v6 Pony package and really considering going to dual exhaust.

Problem is the bumper is only meant for single, so I am wondering if I should have someone cut a hole out for the second or buy a new bumper.

Also, which tips and style of pipe goes best?

You can get a template from Pypes for the cut. Easy to do (make sure you print the template full size and not "fit to print"). There isn't anything behind the bumper that you can damage. I just took a drill and made an outline with holes then cut the bumper with a box cutter. Took an empty wine bottle and wrapped some sand paper around it and smoothed out the cut.

I preferred the cut V6 bumper, but when I was rear ended it was cheaper to pull it off and replace it myself with a GT bumper.

I actually just got my true dual Pypes installed 2 weeks ago for my v6. Pypes does a good job of including everything you need, but the template was not included. It was easily downloaded from http://pypesexhaust.com/instructions...r-cutout02.pdf.

I got my professionally installed for $300 because I wanted it done right but they said it was straightforward. It took about 6 hours to get installed and they sound amazing. They said that cutting one side made it look a little off, so they shaved a bit of the existing slot to make them match perfectly. I was happy to spend the money to have it done right.

Good luck though!

Doesn't the ford racing V6 dual exhaust kit on american muscle come with a cut out template for the 4.0 bumper?

I had my bumper cut....easy to do especially during the summer months. The bumper is plastic so with the right tool, it's no problem.
I do like the look of the V6 bumper cut outs....it looks like Factory but best of all....it's FREE! Why spend $$$ on a GT bumper when you could put that $$$ into another mod?

There are a ton of threads about this in the V6 forum. Yes, some folks cut out for the 2nd tip and others get a GT takeoff.

Hopefully you understand that on the 4.0 you'll gain little to no power going to duals; you'll only improve exhaust note.

Take a look at some videos on Youtube....it may make you more confident.

Just type in "how to make a cutout on a V6 Mustang bumper" and several vids will show up
.

Nuke, having duals may not gain you much in the hp dept. but it will certainly gain much more in the looks and sound dept.
