Aftermarket Authenticity
 

If this is a dumb question, please feel free to throw rocks and tomatoes.....

With my 05 GT, there are a few aftermarket appearance modifications I'd like to make, but I question whether other Mustang owners will judge me as a fake. For example, I LOVE the GT500 rally stripes. Silver stripes on Sonic Blue. Cheap addition with a great effect. But, I'd be concerned that other owners would think it's a stupid addition, or that I'm trying to fake a GT500.

Also, I like the look of the Foose Gauge Cluster Cover. Also a fairly easy addition, but obviously, my car isn't a Foose Mustang.

Does this stuff matter at all, or am I just being silly? Honest opinions, please!

You can put any body parts on you like.
As long as you don't try to re-badge it to a gt500 or something while it's a stock gt or v6 there's nothing in your list that is wrong. Stripes are stripes. Personally I like the super snake style and may do them some day

I think anything goes, do what you want. There's so many aftermarket parts for these cars because people buy them. You won't be judged as a fake unless you start badging the car as something it's not.

Yeah, as lonn as you aren't rebadging, you aren't gonna catch much flak from anyone here. People put the CS front ends on nonCS cars just because the like the style. Just don't badge your gt as a cobra or a saleen, lol.

Roger that! Thanks fellas! There won't be any badges going on. In fact, I may pull the GT badges off. Right now, there's a world of possibilities! :-)

Unless you meet a dbag that had that "exotic exclusive saleen" and hated those "fakers". But his saleen was a fake with no name plates and never saw him again lol

LOVE the blacked-out features on your GT. With the Mineral Gray, it just looks MEAN!

Actually it's tungsten grey. But thank you just the same. That was the plan removing as much chrome as I could and replace with black :)

It's your car, do what you want, and like...don't worry about what others say. There's ALWAYS going to be someone who doesn't agree with someone else's choices.
