Default Painting GT/CS Wheels?

Hey guys. So i have a black GT/CS, as you can see in my sig. I would like to have these wheels (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-13-Mustang-Shelby-GT-18-x-8-5-Black-Wheels-w-Center-Caps-Set-of-4-/230878677885?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AFord%7CModel%3AMustang%7CSubmodel%3AGT&hash=item35c1710b7d&vxp=mtr ) because i love the design of the stockers, but i would like to save $650. Do you guys think I should paint the stock GT/CS wheels like this or just sell mine and buy these?

The reason i ask is people sometimes freak out when stuff is done to OEM parts such as when someone VHTs 99 ocbra tail lights.

I wouldn't sweat it. I have the same wheels as you and cant decide what i want myself lol. I would be cautious of the seller of the set you linked from eBay however. Do a google search and judge for yourself. But if you can get them powder coated that would be the best way to go.

I'm actually in a similar situation myself sir.

I like the shape of my current wheels, but want a different coloring.

Powdercoating is the best, the shine and color looks the most factory, and metallic. you get a paintshop to do it. its around $100 per wheel.

or you can paint yourself, and get pretty good results, for like $50 total, but it will take some time. You gotta sand the wheels, then clean them, then tape em off, then paint them (primer, then base (2x or 3x), then clear.

I can give you more info on painting them if you need it.

I wish these rims were an inch wider. I know you can widen them but that's another $450 just to do 2 rims

Amen.

I'd love to have some 285's sitting on these wheels.

In a similar boat. I love the stocker "Fanblade" wheels on my Vert. But, they're too damn thin. I Want 275's all 'round but I need at least a 9 inch wide wheel. Plus, a couple of them are chewed up and I can't find new ones for the life of me.
