I just installed my styling bar tonight and on the 2005 and up they give you 2 little velcro straps are they really necessary ?? i mean my headliner is tight and it is about 1/2 - 3/4 inch away from the light bar i put them on and it looks like crap its pulling the headliner in a weird way


i am assuming they velcro is to keep the headliner from flappin on the bar if your factory straps are stretched??

I don't have any velcro straps on mine and CDC did the install for me. So not sure what the straps are that you are referring to or where they go, but they must not be needed.

I just pulled up the installation instructions from the CDC website. I remember when they did the install on mine that the car was sitting with the top half way up. So maybe I do have the velcro straps since it says they are needed to insure clearance of the top. I'll have to check my top when I put it up today to see if they are on the car now.

Forgot to post up what I found (had other things on my mind, my wife had hip replacement surgery on Monday so was at the hospital all day yesterday).

Anyway, I don't have those velcro straps on my car. The top mechanism for the 2013 doesn't look to be significantly different
