Default New here and need some hood advice

Hey guys, been poking around for a few months but haven't posted. To catch up, only had the car about 4 months, 2007 GT Vista Blue with GT500 wheels and spoiler, Cervini Type 2 chin spoiler (waiting to go on) and of course the usual mods (intake, tune, bassani axel-back). Looking to get the hood next so that I can have that and the chin spoiler painted together. Considering 2 hoods but need some input. The usual Kaenen cowl (found plenty of pictures of these and love it), or the Fibertrends 1.5" cowl hood. Can't find many pics of the Fibertrends but love the idea of being a bit different from the others. Opinions from anyone that has seen the quality of fibertrends hoods? Thanks ahead of time.

I personally have never heard of Fibertrends...

I've heard they are the same company that manufactured the 95' Cobra R hoods for Ford but haven't been able to find much on their recent hoods. I wish I had the guts to put the 4" like your running, but I'm afraid my wife will start running everything and everyone over because she won't be able to see.

I actually sold that hood about 2 months ago, I liked it but wanted to go back to the cleaner look. It was def. something to get used to, and yes your wife will run over stuff lol.

I can't really give you opinions on looks, that's all you, but I can tell you painting fiberglass and especially carbon fiber is pretty difficult, keep the extra cost of that in mind

That's a shame, I really liked your hood. Wish I could run something like that, but cops around here already give me a hassle of my hood.

OP, I run the 2 1/2" Cervini Cowl. Not nearly as aggressive looking as the 4", but is a little easier to see out of. It took maybe half a day to get used to, but now I don't even notice it. Something to think about.

I liked it as well. But I liked the no spoiler look and always have, when I went that route the car was too front heavy.

Most fiberglass hoods weigh twice as much as the stock aluminum. And its right where we don't need the extra weight. I currently run a cervinis type IV. I am going to customize my stock hood and remove the phony scoop and add '13 vents
