Default How to spruce up a base gt interior?

I got a base GT but besides the interior I still love it my car more than anything! I do want to spruce up the interior without spending too much. I found some 80$ faux leather black seat covers that seem pretty nice, and I'll grab a 20$ black leather steering wheel cover for starters...and probably get the door sills replaced with the illuminated silver door sills at AM...Otherwise I'm okay with my sound system and stuff...I feel like these 3 things alone will make a huge difference!

Anything else you guys recommend?

AM sells a lot of silver trim which goes good with black interior, I'll get some of those too.

Pickup a Billet Retro Shift ****. Aside from looking beast, the feel of that ball rumbling around in your palm can't be beat.

You could get a set of the premium gauges. I just so happen to know where you can get a set.

Really though, you can swap out the black plastic door handles. If you don't like the black plastic on the dash you can wrap it yourself or have it hydrodipped. A lot of people do carbon fiber and that can look really good if you don't go over board. With the seats, I don't know if going too cheap on those is a good way to go. You can always tell when someone cheaped out of seat covers. Shelby America used to sell '10+ leather seat skins for $300ish. I put them on my '05 and they were fantastic. A little bit of a pain in the *** to put on though.

I'd keep an eye out on fleabay and salvage shops for a take-off premium dash kits. Plenty of premium V6's and GT's getting wrecked now-a-days, you can find a complete brushed aluminum dash for around $200. If it's a bit too steep, Tanner's wrap suggestion is very cost-effective ($30ish for vinyl) and simple enough to try yourself in a single afternoon.

Other than that, I'd definitely go with satin interior door handles. I just did that upgrade on my base model '14 GT. Your year's base model also has a black plastic steering wheel, so I'd try to get my hands on a take-off satin steering wheel. Again, you can look into fleabay and salvage.

Here's a couple of ebay sellers I follow who have OEM parts:
1. http://www.ebay.com/usr/greenleafpri...88.m1543.l2754
2. http://www.ebay.com/usr/fairfome?_tr...88.m1543.l2754
3. http://www.ebay.com/usr/oemresale?_t...88.m1543.l2754

Personally, I don't care for most of the billet interior pieces on AM. They typically don't fit flush or match OEM pieces, so they stick out so much. Just my preference, though.

Carbon Fiber Dash Kit. Not expensive and not gawdy. Dresses up nicely.

Thanks for the ideas guys! What do you recommend for the leather seat covers, got a link? I never took apart a seat before but from what I've heard you can just take off the cheap cloth and keep the foam inside and replace it with a leather cover?
