Body shop doesn't want to paint texture on new GT/CS front bumper
My 2006 GT is at the body shop getting a new Ford GT/CS front bumper painted and installed. I got a call today from them. They don't want to paint the front lower corner air dam part that has a texture on it, worried about paint peeling. I searched the Internet and it seems like the factory GT/CS's had texture on the lower air dam part and it was still painted. Do I tell them to go ahead and paint it anyway? Do they need to prep it any different? If they don't paint it I think it will take away from the whole look of the GT/CS bumper.

A good Adhesion Promoter before applying the base coat would do the trick and won't peel off.
Keep in mind that it will never be as shiny as the rest of the car, that's the purpose of texturing...
Go to another shop too. lol
