Heart transplant Complete! Dyno 631rwhp
Well we have almost completed the swap! She dyno'd today with 631rwhp. We still have yet to install the Kooks Headers and mid pipe. Kenne Bell should ship us the new 2.8L blower next week!!
I have decided to forgo the built block in favor of a new engine and transmission. It turns out that I was able to find a compatible donor! Well it's from the same blood line anyway!
I will be pulling my 4.6L and 5 speed trans for a 2007 GT500 5.4L 32V DOHC and 6 speed transmission!! The donor Shelby front end clip will be here this Friday!
We have begun today by dropping the heart out of my car (the existing motor) and fitting a new AJE K member, A arms, and Motor mounts.
A few picks of the start:
The heart removed!!
Another of the engine
The new AJE Kmember and motor supports.
I will of course keep this thread alive with new pics and updates as I have them!

RE: Heart transplant has begun!
Awesome. Can't wait to see the prrogress.
I have a question, out of curiosity, when you replace an engine that is not what the VIN code matches, and it is time for smog, how does that work? I believe here in CA( I know different states vary with emission laws), if the engine size doesn't match the VIN number it automaically fails. And if I remember when I lived in VA in the late 90's they also passed this rule. Is it just a matter of going to the DMV and getting that changed?
This isn't an intent of starting an arguement of screw the law, I am just curious what the legal way of doing it is.

So you have to sell your 2.6L for the 2.8L?

I will also be selling off the eaton blower on the GT500 motor and I will also have some suspension parts and a stock K member from a GT500.
