well, they're both the same size... haven't looked yet, but they likely have the same brackets in the back. I would think it'd be a simple swap. good question. someone must have done it already...
the whole cluster is in one pod and comes out together. they are also electrical not mechanical, the service manual shows replacing the entire cluster only so I dont think its possible to change them around without replacing the assembly

You would have to get real cozy with your Ford service department
to work on getting the module configuration right so the systems
would work together, i.e. GT500 cluster in a V6 or GT. The 'as built'
data for your stang would not work correctly loaded onto a GT500
cluster. Some tricky configuring by the ford tech would be needed.
Th boost gauge will not work, many many people have looked into this. You can get the GT500 cluster for about 300-400 installed though. Just depends on how bad you want the speedo swap
