Default Axle back Vs Cat Back Exhaust

Can someone explain the difference between them, if there is any?

Is there a reason to get one over the other???

Also, if I install the MRT axle back does it require a tune or should I say is one recommended?

Default RE: Axle back Vs Cat Back Exhaust

Axleback mufflers are the mufflers that are followed after the cats. Your Cats are before the H- pipe that you have. Next time you

get your oil changed look underneath there and you will see it all layed out. They are there to prevent pollution and makes the car

quieter too.

Your axle backs are the mufflers that are underneath the trunk that have tips. Some people buy different H-pipes or x-pipes that

don't have cats. They are called off road. Some people say that give you more power that is debateable. Pipes with cats are legal.

Pipe that don't have cats aren't legal for the road only for race prepared cars.

Also your question you do not need a tune for axlebacks.

You know I think maybe I answered this wrong I'm not a mech. but cat-back might be the mufflers that are like half way back like

the 2004s' . It's like headers, cats, pipe then catbacks or axlebacks.
