Default Whirling/whooshing sound occasionally from my tranny...

On my 05 gt sometimes after you get on it or occasionally when you don't the tranny makes a whirling or whooshing noise. It seem to come from under the shifter or slightly more forward than that. It doesn't happen too much, maybe once or twice a month. Any ideas?

That's the turbo prop slowing down.

Not sure, do you have automatic or manual transmission?

well i have an auto, and i get this whirling or high pitched something that almost sounds like a little jet engine.....but i have been told it's just the sound of the transmission...and it's supposed to be that way. i posted about it a while back....

I get a whirring sound, but it sounds like it is from the rear end. I hear it whenever I am coasting, then give it a little gas just to maintain speed. (manual trans) I think it sounds like gear noise. I might have it listened to by the mechanic if I take it in for the first oil change when it reaches 3,000 miles.
I am somewhat apprehensive about asking a mechanic if something is wrong. I fear they might think they have to tear it apart just to "do something". I may just wait to see if something actually breaks down while it's still under warrantee.

Mine is definately up front. I don't think I'll worry about it unless it gets crazy.

Funny that you'd say that, when I first heard it (I also have an auto and the noise is in the front also, only when I really step on it) my first though was, hhhmmm sounds like I got a turbo on my Mustang!!! I like it!!
