I raced the 6.0 gto at the track, i beat him my 13.5 to his 13.9 i think he sucked as a driver. Those things stock with drag radials should hit high 12

I ran my friends 2002 corvette z06, the best time he could get was a 13.7 I ran consistent 13.5's He was a bad driver with bad r.t. times. I'm not bragging but he should have beaten me easly, its all in the driver. His cousin had a 2002 vette not the z06 he was beating both of us, he new how to dive it at the track.

I haven't seen many GTO's in the wild around here, but I hear from some owners in the forums I frequent that they do have trouble hooking up on street radials alot of times.....especially the LS2's. I did test drive the LS2 GTO a few times before getting my 05 GT........they are total beasts. But the heavy feel of the car wasn't doin it for me.........as wasn't the 36 grand price tag[:'(]. They are in the neighborhood of 300 lbs heavier than our cars, but don't underestimate for a moment...........that motor will rip u a new one in the hands of the right driver.

There's a guy I met on muscularmustangs forums that has an 05 GTO that lives in my area and wants to run me at the local strip.......after my charger is in. Guess he wants to see if his lightly modded Goat will still kick at a blown 05 3V pony. Should be fun, hehe......hope he has some weight reductions in mind.

Exactly, you don't see too many GTO's on the street. Mustangs are a dime a dozen.

Pre '05's may be a dime a dozen and the reason they are and the GTO isn't is because the GTO doesn't cry out to be bought, the Mustang does. I don't see the low numbers of GTO's on the road as a good thing, either does Pontiac.

Maybe the few who bought them do, more power to them, Pointiac made their day, they killed it, maybe now they'll build a car worthy of the name GTO, one that isn't over weight and over priced...

With their horrible sales, I bet GM will be going down first. They better pull something off with this new E85 fuel crap or else consider them gone...[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Agreed, but I'll take the 5.4 in the GT and Shelby anyday. Nothing against GM, I just don't like their quality, my best friend just bought a new 3LT Monte Carlo, it whistles at 50 and the back is scratched up from the braindead idjit who dragged the license plates accross the trunk. Yeah not GM's fault but heck, he works for GM so represents them. To top it off their computers were down and the finance guy didn't know the difference between smart lease and smart buy....

I'll stick with Ford.
