Default What new rims to buy?

I have been considering a new set or rims. Any one have opinions on 18 or 19 inch? I have stock 17" on my 05' GT. I was even considering wider tires on the back mabye 10 1/2 iches or so. If anyone knows of any cool sites to look at rims please let me know. Thanks, Peter T.

Youcan look at this sit http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_gara...05&autoModClar, and see what different type of wheels you would like.

I'm going with these http://mustangtuning.com/ch20mubuwh1.html .

Here's another site you might be interested in. http://www.ponybuilder.com/home.html

Good Luck.

From a performance perspective you want to keep the lightest, lowest moment of inertia, wheel you can run w/o undermining your real estate for your brake/rotor combination. Generally (and here I'm leaving out an extended discussion of materials, total weight, mass distribution from hub, etc.), that means the 17" wheel is likely to be better than the 18" and so forth. However, most 14" rotor upgrades require 18" or bigger wheels. I wouldn't go 19" for performance reasons (definitely not 20"s), but if you aren't focused on that, "row, row, row your boat" up whatever stream floats it. Enjoy.

Best,
-j

Here are the new ones I just got.. They are 20's and they handle much better than the stock crap that was on there. Foose Nitrous, with Nitto 555 tires.

I have foose speedster 18's and I love them. BTW I have 18x10's out back, and with the right offset, they look perfect on the car. I figured that 18's were the best compromise between keeping the weight down for racing and good looks. Also, I got tires that were actually about 1" shorter to help lower the center of inertia on the wheel and to allow for room to drop the vehicle with the wider tires on it.
