Default SLP Loudmouth HELP

My SLP Loudmouth's finally arrived and I'm in the midst of installign them on my '06; The installation is very easy except for there appears to be a bung on the factory pipe that doesn't fit in the slot in the new SLP pipe (see pics). Am I supposed to enlarge the slot in the SLP pipe? HELP!!

Anyone have an answer on what they did when they installed these?

You don't need to go any further than where you already have it. Just bolt the clamps on and have fun.

that looks like the slot which allows the clamps to compress the pipes. Not sure what would need to be "enlarged." Does the SLP fit on all the way up to the "shoulder" bend?

that slot isn't there so it can slide over the nut... even if it could it wouldn't go very far because the pipe size changes. It is there so the end of the pipe can close tighter when the clamp is on it....

All you gotta do now is put the clamp on so that it covers that slot and the tighten it as hard as you can with hand tools

if you are not sure, mark it, remove the muffler, and measure it. In discussions with Corsa re: a catback install on my GM, they specifically said that it is not necessary to have the pipes inserted all the way to the end of the shoulder; there is some extra space so that you can adjust the dual pipe tips to extend even distances from under the bumper fascia. Probably same with SLP.

OK, that's what I needed to know. Just didn't seem to slip on very far. Thanks for the help.
