What brand of gears did you buy?
Hey everyone, I was curious what brand of gears you bought, I'm wanting some 4.10's (of course) but was wondering the quality of each brand, what did you buy and are you COMPLETELY satisfied with it? Any problems/whining noises?

RE: What brand of gears did you buy?
I bought the Motives from Brenspeed today. Coming together with my C&L/XCAL2 next week.
I drove a friends '06 today that has the Ford Racings in it. His had zero whine and felt GREAT! Being in the auto service business, personally, I think proper installation is the largest factor in having quiet gears. I've heard guys with Ford Racing gears that scream like a single girl that ran out of batteries on a Friday night!
My $0.02.

I ordered mine from Brenspeed also and he convinced me that I was better off getting the Motive Gear rather then the FRPP set. FRPP gears are apparently noisy even if installed properly.

Well, I put Motives in and even though the pinion depth and the backlash is set well within spec, they are a little noisy for me. Everthing has been double checked as far as specs and are right on. I ordered FRPP gears to replace them as they are laser cut gears and have a "backcut" on the pinion to help eliminate whine. The Motives are not bad and only make a little noise, but why deal with it if you don't have to. The part number on the revised FRPP 4:10 set is M-4209-G410A. They also offer an install kit, part #M-4210-A that comes with all you need except the lube and additive.

My FRRP make no noise- don't believe that crap.

+1 to that...Motive is going to be noisier than FRPP, I have frpp 4:10's and am COMPLETLY happy with them!
