RE: is the extended warranty worth it?
yes!
Wait! Otherwise they are getting your $$$ which could be earning interest for 3 years!
You can always by an extended warranty later and can shop around for better deals.
But i still don't get it. Doesn't the Mustang come with a 3 or 4 year warranty anyway?

I got an extra 3 years added onto the base 3 year warranty for an extra $10 a month on my payments, i dont even know if Ill have the car in three years, but this being my first new car I wanted to make sure it will be taken care of properly fif anything goes wrong, I think its worth it, and just as a side note, here's my history with warranties:
in Jan 2005 I traded in my POS 91 Sentra and got a used 2000 Ford Focus SE Sedan (NOT from a Ford dealer), paid an extra $1100 for a 3 year warranty, fast forward to July 2005, Car totaled, never made a claim on the warranty, $1100 down the pooper! I did attempt to make a claim on the warranty when I went to a car wash and my side view mirror fell off under the pressure sprayy. but they said it wasnt covered.
Aug 2005, bought a 5 speed 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 hatchback, (From a Ford Dealer.) paid like $1000 for a 3 year warranty, never had a problem with the car, traded it in in Feb 2006 for my Stang, Ford said Id get some money back from the warranty in the mail, still waiting to see what I get back.

I got the 6 yr 75K warranty and I am glad. The last 2 cars I had nickled and dimed me to death. They would have been covered if they had a 6 yr 75K warranty.
These are new car designs and you have no idea what problems they may develope in 4 or 5 yrs.
Also you will get the best deal for a warranty at or close to the time of purchase. Dealers are less likely to give you a good deal on a warranty for a car that already has 12K miles on it.
Just my .02 cents
