The 500 designates comfort and power. I had a 1967 Gallaxie 500. Had the over-the-top chome filled dash and a lot of chrome on the body moldings. BUT...also had the 390 4V motor. That Biatch would scream. There was a Ford Galaxie that had a 289 and no outside body molding. The Galaxie 500 was also a 2 door the Galaxie was a four door.
