What kind of damage did that hailstorm do? Sounds bad! You have to take the car apart! (I thought hurricanes were bad...)

Great looking car though - good luck

I installed my new MRT hood struts. Like Tony the Tiger says....they're GREAT!!! Really easy to install, work perfectly, and don't block access to the engine compartment as much as other brands.

Nicely worded JML. Drove what hard? The car or the wife??

I layed out my stripes so they'd flatten out some and collected all the stuff to apply them. Now just need a little warm weather.

Installed my new painted rearview mirror covers (from Midwest Auto Gear) and billeted door lock pins (from Mustang Tuning).
The mirror covers are easy to install and they matched the paint perfectly.

The door lock pins were another story. When I removed the stock ones I turned, and turned, and turned some more. The pulled it up and out. When I put on the new ones it slipped over the bolt then I turned it a few times to tighten when I noticed that because of the big head on it if I tightened it all the way when I locked the door the pin wouldn't be able to go all the way down!
So I loosened it back up, locked the door and was only able to give them a couple of turns until they were seated.
It was part # 54005 (see the last photo- from http://www.mustangtuning.com/door-pi...-aluminum.html )
I'd recommend looking for ones that are shaped like stock ones or that are longer. They say they fit years 94-06 but I think the new Stangs require year specific parts EVERYWHERE!

Sounds like MOST of us had FUN fiddling with our Mustangs.

Hey BLUE... Since you have to take the roof off.... why not replace it with GLASS?

Hood struts are awesome... I have the Redline ones...

Someone ask where I got the Cover - - www.uprproducts.com... it was 189.99 shipped. the Polished one is more.

Stangman.... you know, I am not sure what it was... it was NOT a restore, but a total chassis up custom cruiser, and no it wasn't mine...

I cropped it out of some of my pics from the show for ya!

Thanks for the compliment. The hailstorm did take a good toll on the car. Nearly every part facing the sky took a good hit. Even the back of the car has a bunch of dings. If they would go with just a slightly thicker metal on these cars, there wouldn't be so much damage when it hails. I know they are trying to save on the weight of any new car to try and better gas mileage but I would think a slightly thicker metal would help bring down the cost of hail repair. But then, the Paintless Dent Removal guys would be out of a job and the insurance companies would find some other way to jack up our car insurance.

PW,

I was thinking of going with the glass roof but I don't know anyone that has one for our cars. CDC still hasn't released their version yet. Do you have any insight on one? I also need to check to see how much they cost.

I had just put my Borla CatBack in just a few days before the weekend. Love it, sounds mean.
