My "GT" vs a cocky 911 turbo

OK,

I have a R&D consultant at work that wants to take me for a run this summer on the ¼ mile. I know what you are going to say, Race’em and find out but I’d like to know how bad it will be…..

He’s got a 1996 911 turbo.

I have a 05 gt auto with the following

Vortech 14 PSI
4:30 gear
T. converter
Magnapack

I have no idea what I’m doing on the dyno yet or the ¼ mile.

Are you running the T-trim? Or did you use a 3.61 pulley with the S-trim? And who in the heck installed your vortech and didn't dyno the car???? to run 14 psi and 4.30 gears without dyno tuning is the dumbest thing I have ever heard...[sm=dontgetit.gif]

If you have what you say, it won't even be a race...

+1 I just hope your installer didn't shortcut your installation. Does your car run strong?

Holy cow... I would park that thing until it was tuned on a dyno. Can anyone say KABOOM !! Seriously, like Chevykiller says, I would certainly hope your tuner dyno tuned that combo.

It was done at the ford dealer.....

They just asked how much boost I wanted. I don't think they put it on a dyno but I'm not sure. Actually I’m 75% sure they didin't. I believe they used somebody else's tune from a prior install and threw it into mine.
I'll take a video of it tomorrow and post it in here. The pod is in the center of the console. I'll get someone to film it.
I have no idea what you mean by T-trim or S-trim. Could you tell with a picture?

It makes a really big difference from stock but they installed the converter and gear at the same time they did the Vortech.
Originally they where supposed to put the Vortech at 10psi with the predator tune but I changed it half way into the order. I hope they didn't just throw a pulley in there and call it a day....

I am suprised FORD would even do that. If thats the case, I'd say you would have him by a full sec.

Do you have an A/F gauge? If not, you really should get it on a dyno just to make sure. You do not want it to lean out on top or you could indeed blow the engine.

The race is going to be purely driver skill with the kind of power you're talking about with both cars. Drivers being equal you probably have the edge, but either one of you could also roast your tires into next week while the other shows off his taillights

against a 96 turbo...you win by at least a second if you hook up, even if you dont hook up i would be shocked if you didnt run him down but it would be close if you spin

thats a fast car, i think the 993's are actually a bit faster than the 996 TT
