Yea, I have a bad memory for that......which is why 9/10 times I put it in neutral and just use the parking brake. Of course, I almost never park on any sort of incline so I don't think it's too much of an issue, yet. Everything around here is relatively flat.

I never use the park brake, I have always heard its hard on pads and rotors to set them together so tightly after being driven and hot, I have always just used good ol' 1st hear. But then again I do live in florida where hills are non existent, lol!

It uses your rear breaks how hot do those get? isn't 90% of your breaking power on your front?

actually from what i've read on these new ponies the rear brakes get much hotter than the fronts.

This depends on the weights of the car, if it is front wheen drive or not, etc but usually it is about 70% or so front/rear. That is why you normally see 2 front brake jobs to every rear brake job, especially with brakes shoes (and yes I know their are other factors with drum brakes that cause this as well)
